Our Values
The core values that Rosebank students and staff value, promote and celebrate are:
Respect - Whakaute
Integrity – Ngakau Tapatahi
Excellence – Hiringa
These values are interwoven through the fabric of school life. They are modelled by staff, deliberately taught to students. Our aim is for these values to become stable and long-lasting character traits within each student.
Please note that these values will be reviewed during 2024 and will possibly change.
PB4L - Positive Behaviour for Learning
At Rosebank School we deliberately model, teach, recognise, expect and value positive behaviours and respectful relationships.
We provide a nurturing environment where the individual is valued and students are encouraged to strive for excellence in all areas.
We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning School.
PB4L is all about teaching children the right behaviour, just like we teach any other subject at school.
“If a student does not know how to read, we teach. If a student does not know how to swim, we teach. If a student does not know how to multiply, we teach. If a student does not know how to behave, we teach.”
PB4L School-wide looks at behaviour and learning from a whole-of-school, as well as an individual child perspective. The framework is based on international evidence.
The Positive Behaviour for Learning School-wide framework, otherwise known as PB4L School-wide, is helping New Zealand schools build a culture where positive behaviour and learning is a way of life.
It’s not about changing the students; it’s about changing the environment, systems and practices you have in place to support them to make positive behaviour choices.
