Welcome to the Room 3 and 4 Homework Page
Spelling:
Each week the children will have a Spelling homework sheet to complete. The words on this sheet will be introduced in class first. Each day in class a new sound will be introduced to the children. Children are encouraged to think of as many words as they can that make the same sound.
The homework provides extra practice for the children and helps them to learn the patterns and sounds in the words. When the children complete each sheet please make sure they say each sound as they write it. They should write each word four times before moving on to the next word.
Your child will be grouped for spelling. Please check with your child to see which list they should be completing. The groups are:
Group A
Group B
Words will be tested at school at the end of each week.
Reading and Maths:
Children are expected to read at home each night. Children will have a reading book from school four nights per week. Please check with your child's teacher if books are not coming home. There is a sheet in your child's homework book to sign when your child has done their reading.
A short maths section is also on the reading sheet. Please encourage your child to work through this sheet as quickly as they can. It will provide good practice in learning basic maths facts.
