 Susan Kornyei - Board Chair

Susan joined the Rosebank Primary School Board after the elections in September 2008 and is really enjoying the opportunity of extending her passion for education. Coming with a background as a Financial accountant, and part way through a Diploma in Career Education, allows these skills to be available to the school governance at board level.
Her son David experienced two great years at Rosebank Primary school before currently attending South Otago High School. Amy is a year 8 pupil at the school and Susan thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to be camp cook/Mum to each of the Syndicate camps.  She is Secretary of the Rosebank Netball Club and is Umpiring Convenor for 2001, helping 7 of Rosebank year 8 pupils with their umpiring skills.

Rob Mills - Deputy Board Chair

Rob has been associated with Rosebank School since 2004, and has four children at the school. He came onto the Board in December 2008 and has enjoyed coming to understand the workings of the school system. The Mills family live in Rosebank, and Rob appreciates that Rosebank School is a focal point for the families in the area. Like all Trustees, he wants to ensure the best possible education for the children of the school, concentrating on "How we want our children to be equipped for when they leave Rosebank and head to high school and the world beyond. "

Dean Katon

Dean has been on the Rosebank School Board of Trustees for 6 years.
He is married to Shirley who is currently the Learning Support Teacher at Rosebank and their 2 children are in Year 6 & 7 at this school.
Dean is the foreman of the pre-cast division at Stahlton Engineered Concrete. He is on the property & finance sub-committee of the Board which calls on his building industry background.

Marthinus Hendriks

I am origanally from South Africa, immigrated in 2002 and have been a resident in Balclutha since our arrival.  We became New Zealand citizens in 2007.My qualification is a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and for the past 7 years have been employed by Silver Fern Farms as Engineering Manager.
I am married to Marne, who is currently teaching at Rosebank and we have two children, Michael (5) and Michelle (10) who are also enrolled at Rosebank School.
During my working life I have gained a huge amount of experience in leadership & managerial roles, which I am keen to share with the Board of Trustees to achieve the school's vision. These roles cover all aspects of strategic planning and organizational development.  I also worked within a very broad spectrum of different cultures.
Extramural activities include rugby refereeing, cycling, flying, squash and to a lesser degree these days golf and scuba diving.
I am a great believer in setting high standards when it comes to children's values and life skills, especially at an early stage where we can play a very important part as role models.  The Board of Trustees has a vital role in setting the goals and policies that will deliver this quality education and I consider I have the experience to make a significant contribution to the goverenance of Rosebank School.
Seek the wisdom of ages, but look at the world through the eyes of a child.

 Karen Sinclair

Karen joined the Rosebank School Board of Trustees during 2010.  She held the position of Minute Secretary to the Board of Trustees for eight years before joining the Board.  During this time she gained a good understanding of the workings of the school, and the governance role of the Board.
She has a financial and administration background and is able to use these skills in her position on the Policy and Personnel Sub Committee.
Karen and her husband Peter have four children.  Three currently attend Rosebank Primary School, and one is at High School.  She is very involved in the sporting and cultural activities of her children, both at school and out of school.
